Consumer Review: Bottle Pets (and a Giveaway!!!)

photo

Even as a mother, when it comes down to trying to find a unique baby shower gift, I tend to utterly fail. I usually end up buying a gift card, because I don’t want to buy something that someone else has already bought.

When Nina at Bottle Pets approached me about doing a review, I checked out their website, and did some reading. Bottle Pets are soft plush animals that you insert a bottle into and then give to your child. I’ve seen all types of baby bottle covers, but they were more in the vein of insulator wraps to keep the contents warm/cold. A stuffed animal baby bottle cover is something I quite honestly haven’t seen before, so I jumped at the chance to review them. I was sent Bailey the Cow and Charlie the Dinosaur. When I received them, I looked them over. These Bottle Pets are soft, cute, and very well made.

Which is important, because BabyBoy is at the stage where he likes to pull, twist, and throw things. And at first, he was reluctant about me giving him a stuffed animal with a bottle inside. He’s 14 months old, and set in his ways. It was a completely new thing to him to hold Charlie and still drink from his bottle at the same time, but gradually, he got used to it, and now he happily hugs Charlie while drinking his bottle. I wanted to get a picture, but unfortunately, he had fallen off the couch and smacked his head on an edge, which cut his forehead above his eye.

Even before he got used to Charlie the Dinosaur holding his bottle inside, he would still play with the Bottle Pets as stuffed animals. And that’s the truly wonderful thing. These baby bottle covers aren’t just an insulated cover, they are also toys for babies to snuggle with. The Bottle Pets are easy to use, with a study velcro closure at the bottom. You simply fill your bottle, insert into the Bottle Pet, adjust the mouth of the Bottle Pet around the base of the nipple ring, and close the velcro flap. The Bottle Pet also acts as an insulator. Warm bottles stay warm longer, and cold bottles stay cold.

Bottle Pets baby bottle covers would be the perfect gift for any mom with a new baby. BabyBoy loves to tug on Charlie and Bailey’s arms and legs while he drinks his bottle. He’s very into different textures right now, so he keeps petting the Bottle Pets. They’re soft and silky, made of minky fabric (that uber-soft and smooth fabric that many baby blankets are made of).

Even my son, who is very resistant to change, took to his Bottle Pets. And now, you can win one too!!! ABMF and Bottle Pets are hosting a giveaway, in which you can win a Bottle Pet for yourself! Well, for your child (to be honest, I am rather taken with Bailey the Cow…they’re so cute!!!).

Simply head on over to the ABMF Facebook Page and click on the “Giveaway” tab to enter. This giveaway will run from 12/6/2012 to 12/21/2012.
