Bear with me, I’ll get to the giveaway details and link in a moment. Everyone by now has heard of cord blood banking, in which stem cells from the umbilical cord is cryogenically preserved after a baby is born. This post is not a political or moral stance on stem cell research. I happen to support stem cell research when those stem cells are gained through ethical means, like cord blood banking.
There are two options for anyone looking to bank their cord blood. Public banks accept donations of cord blood, and the resulting stem cells can be used by anyone who is a match. Once donated, the family’s individual specimen is not retrievable by that family. Private cord blood banking, on the other hand, allows the family to have access in the future to the stem cells they placed with that bank. I wanted to bank my cord blood with each of my kids. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t an option for us.
LifeBankUSA is the only private cord blood bank to be registered with the FDA to collect not just the cord blood stem cells, but also the stem cells from the placenta, and they also offer placental tissue storage as well. Their website is informative and offers a comprehensive breakdown of their practices, procedures, and pricing option information.
Stem cell research has so much potential. Cures for diseases, treatment of injuries, and healing. When those stem cells are acquired through ethical practices, everyone has the chance to benefit.
Seriously, if you’re expecting or planning to be expecting, do some research and look into cord blood banking, and check out LifeBankUSA if you’re interested in banking placental blood and tissue as well.

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post, for which I received a form of compensation, however, as with all such posts, I did due diligence and research, and posted about a company that, should I find myself having another baby at some point down the road, I would feel secure and confident in making the choice to bank my baby’s cord blood with them. All opinions expressed within this post are 100% honest and 100% my own. I would not have agreed to post unless the company and the service they offer did not have my personal support and trust.
