Yes. You ARE.
No, I am not pregnant. Maybe you are, and maybe this just might be your first baby…congratulations!! Becoming a mom for the first time (and second, third, etc.) is an amazing, life-changing experience! I know, I know…everyone says that. If you had a dollar for every time someone said it to you, amirite? Continue reading

Bear with me, I’ll get to the giveaway details and link in a moment. Everyone by now has heard of cord blood banking, in which stem cells from the umbilical cord is cryogenically preserved after a baby is born. This post is not a political or moral stance on stem cell research. I happen to support stem cell research when those stem cells are gained through ethical means, like cord blood banking. Sometimes, I take some time to peruse the offerings over at BlogHer, a network for women bloggers, featuring posts by those bloggers. Sometimes I like what I read, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I comment, most times I don’t. But this article by Issa Waters…no matter how I tried to compact all I needed to say into a comment that people wouldn’t dismiss as TL;DR (Too Long; Didn’t Read), I simply have too much to say. First, go have a read. It’s okay, go on, I’ll wait here. Continue reading

Even as a mother, when it comes down to trying to find a unique baby shower gift, I tend to utterly fail. I usually end up buying a gift card, because I don’t want to buy something that someone else has already bought.
When Nina at Bottle Pets approached me about doing a review, I checked out their website, and did some reading. Bottle Pets are soft plush animals that you insert a bottle into and then give to your child. I’ve seen all types of baby bottle covers, but they were more in the vein of insulator wraps to keep the contents warm/cold. A stuffed animal baby bottle cover is something I quite honestly haven’t seen before, so I jumped at the chance to review them. I was sent Bailey the Cow and Charlie the Dinosaur. When I received them, I looked them over. These Bottle Pets are soft, cute, and very well made.

Another blogger group challenge…I am supposed to tell you who I am…We all know I am a mom and, for all intents and purposes, a wife.
But I am also so much more.

Right now, you are taking a rare nap and it’s all I can do to not wake you up and kiss you over and over and hug your precious body until you giggle.
One day, when you are a parent, you will understand why, once I have told you a story…I want to tell you about a precious little boy named Atticus Hansen. I read his story, and by the end of it, I was crying. I felt the ache in my heart that Atticus’s mother felt. Continue reading

Now that I can look back on the worst of my depression from the other side of the tunnel, I am shocked that I didn’t realize it sooner. I carefully kept everything under lock and key, safe from view. But I have been challenged by my friend Melissa to tell you the truth. Please take my tale as a warning, learn from my fail, whatever you will. Keep in mind as you read that I love my children with all my heart, and that never went away.
So. How bad was it? The short answer is really bad. The long answer is…well, longer. Continue reading
